Behind the Scenes with Kelli Sargent

The successful 7th annual run for her has passed but the run for her office continues to be busy busy busy! I remember during the first couple years of run for her, we would pretty much take a 6 month break from run for her before we ramped up for the following year. Fast forward to the 8th annual run for her and there aren’t enough hours in the day to keep up with everything. From designing holidays cards and mailing tax receipt letters to sponsorship wrap up and outreach …there isn’t a dull day in the office.

Now in our 8th year and with all the success run for her has had, I am determined that we can get a solid media partner and a celebrity spokesperson on board. I am so confident and determined, that I got up very early this past Saturday morning to attend a networking event with over 50 leaders from the media industry.

I explained to some of the mentors that we are really looking for a Spokesperson for run for her. A spokesperson who is passionate about the cause. They offered some ideas, but I think in the end our best ideas will come from those who know us best- our supporters and friends. Who do you think would be the ideal spokesperson for run for her? Share with us here on the blog…we would love to hear your ideas!

We have some great things in store for 2012, but we are always looking for ways to enhance run for her…be it with ideas for awareness and fundraising, sponsorship, media, partnerships or anything else you have on your mind. If you have any ideas please share them with us at or here on the blog.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

my suggestion for a spokesperson for run for her is Jane fonda. She is very smart bright and Though she may not be a cancer surviver, she has survived many obstacles in life.
Just suggesting. I hope you don’t think shes too old. :-\

Hi Juanita…I LOVE that suggestion. She is definitely not too old and is a true icon. I remember my Mom working out to her videos when I was younger and even going to some of her classes! She seems like someone who could speak passionately about the cause. Any chance you have a connection to her? Thank you for the suggestion and if you have any others would love to hear them.

How about a survivor to offer a little hope! I know there are women out there like me who have beat the odds. There must be a celebrity who will come forward!

    Hi Katie,

So glad to hear you have beat the odds. I can’t agree with you more…survivors are by far the biggest heroes. There is no voice stronger for a woman going through this disease than to hear stories of those who have beat the odds. Do you have any thoughts on how we can better honor survivors through and at run for her?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and strength. If your are comfortable, we would love for you to email your story so we can share with our run for her community. No pressure at all…just if you feel like it is something you want to do:)

    All the Best,
